Drug/Alcohol Abuse & More

It is a sign of personal weakness and strength when a women suffering from drug/alchohol admits that she has problems. The fact that the woman has enough preserverence to tell others of her addiction shows that she has much strength and endurance to seek help for her personal weakness.

There are many people who engage in substance abuse. Cigarette smoking is one very addictive form of substance abuse.Smoking is often seen as a means of coping with stress, trauma, and weight loss. This has many affects one's health and other's around them. Although many people attempt to quit cigarette smoking, through smoking kits and chewing gums, often times these do not work, causing the person to go back to regular smoking routines. Unfitunatly, many lives are lost due to excessive smoking.

  1. Brittany,
I agree that a woman admitting that she has a drug addiction is seen as a personal weakness according to the society. I personally believe that a woman is not weak for adnitting that she has a drug addiction because that is the first step to overcoming your problems. I feel that you are strong to admit that you have a problem and to face the negative criticism that may come along with admitting to being addicted to a drug. Instead of criticizing a person for their downfalls we should all support people who are getting help for their addictions.

  2. I agree with you completely. I actually think that admitting you need help with a is the ultimate showing of strength. I thins that refusing to ask for help is weak! Adiction is such a severe problem that in most cases it is impossible to recover from with some sort of assistence from someone else. It takes someone very strong to put their pride aside to ask for help for the sake of their help and well being. It shows they are strong enough to over come their addiction and that they refuse to allow their addiction to become a wekaness any longer.
